Block 2 - Week 2

Week 2 of this block was a very solid week.  I’m starting to think that week 2 will always be the strongest week in each block.  I will be nice and warm from week 1, but I wont be as fatigued as I am during week 3.  Either way, it was a solid week.

On Friday, I am going to Fraser Bicycle in Detroit to get my body bio-mechanically analyzed, and custom fit to my Specialized Tarmac Elite road bike.  I REALLY wanted to invest in a tri-bike…but with current undergrad school bills, and medical school bills looming in the near future, it doesn’t seem like a wise investment.  So, I am taking an alternative route and transforming my road bike into a tri-bike.  The guys at Fraser Bicycle tell me the handling wont be the same, but the mechanics and aerodynamics should be equivalent.

Either way, I’m pumped to get the new set up!! I have been having “comfort” problems anyway.  My lower back has been hurting, and my shoulders have been getting tired while in aero position, and I have been getting numbness in my lower extremities…so it was time to get properly fitted.

Sorry for the late post, I am already half-way through week three!!  Here are my totals for week two:

Swim - 5200 meters

Bike - 105 miles

Run - 22 miles

Tomorrow’s training consists of a short swim of 1300 meters and a long run of 12 miles.  Happy Training!
